People often say that balance is impossible. I don’t get that. Of course, it’s possible. It’s a feeling!
Balance is defined as a condition in which different elements are equal or in the correct proportions. The key to balance is defining what those different elements are for you and creating the structure to achieve it. For example, my elements are the Not Therapy Program (Physical, Spiritual, Emotional, Intellectual), Ava, my work, my family, my friends. For me, those things aren’t mutually exclusive, there’s tons of cross-over. There should be for you, too!
I choose not to balance my elements within a day’s time. For me, I feel more balanced and invigorated, when I balance things in a week’s time. Some days, I’m all about my work; others, I hang with Ava all day. How come? If I try to balance things within a day, I get everything kinda done but nothing quite done and that makes me feel out of sync—the opposite of balance.
How do you need to work your elements to feel balanced or in sync? Once you know that, even when you don’t fit it all in, all the time, you’ll feel just fine, knowing that everything that matters to you will happen, eventually.
